The magnificent castle of St. George sits proudly above the Lisbon skyline with incredible views over the city and the Tagus river. The famous No.28 tram takes you on an exciting journey up to the castle and down through the historic parts of the city. There are hundred’s of places to see in Lisbon and most tourists will tell you, that the best way to see Lisbon is to buy a public transport day pass and just explore. From the Church of Carmo, to the Avenida de Libedade, from the Jeronimo’s monastery to the spectacular 25th of April bridge, it is a city that you could visit over and over again and still find something new every time you visit. The Portuguese capital is a multi-faceted place to invest, with the commercial hub of Expo to the peaceful suburb of Campo do Ourique, or the traditional and thriving area of Santos and Cais do Sodre to the tourist hot spots of Bairro Alto and Baixa.
The Silver Coast
It is an area steeped in tradition and culture, hidden away for years from the rest of the world and predominantly enjoyed by the locals. This area was the holiday destination of choice for the Portuguese royal family and continues to be the holiday destination of choice for Portuguese families from Lisbon, Porto and the surrounding areas. The coastline is untouched. Building regulations on The Silver Coast are strict and as a result beaches, forests, natural parks and lagoons are protected from over-development. The Silver Coast features miles and miles of breath taking coastline, lush forests, incredible islands and golden beaches. From the majestic monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaça, to the incredible castles of Leiria and Obidos. From the mystery of Fatima to the beauty of Sitio, The Silver Coast has a rich heritage, its history is passionate, romantic, at times miraculous and all of this is evident in the incredible architecture on display all over the area. This is an area which has it all; history and culture, beaches, golf, water sports, slow food, good wine... authentically Portuguese. Popular areas include the traditional fishing village of Nazaré, Salir do Porto and São Martinho do Porto nestled against a beautiful shell-shaped bay, the wonderful area of Obidos with it's ancient castle, magnificent lagoon and world class golf courses. All of this natural beauty, variety and Silver Coast magic is only an hour from Lisbon airport.
